Søren Paaske Johnsen is head of Danish Center for Clinical Health Services Research and professor and senior consultant at Aalborg University and Aalborg University Hospital, Denmark.
Professor Johnsen’s primary field of interest is health services research and quality of clinical care, including use of evidence-based care, effectiveness and safety of clinical interventions and evaluation of quality improvement strategies. The research involves extensive use of health registers, including clinical quality databases and administrative registers.
He received his medical degree and PhD degree in epidemiology from Aarhus University, Denmark. Professor Johnsen has worked with real-world evidence studies since the late 1990s and co-founded the Danish Center for Clinical Health Services Research in 2018. He is now heading this multidisciplinary centre which holds expertise within clinical epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics and data science.
